On their senior night, the Crusaders came out strong against the visiting Lancers. Sophomore Kelsey Dunn served points 5 through 10 to put the team out in front 10-2. The Lancers battled back winning key plays and behind strong serving from Kiersten Chapman. In set 2, the home team struggled against the tough serving of the Lancers, losing 10-25. After mixing the rotation up a little, the Crusaders came back firing. The set lead changed several times. Long rallies ensued. The Crusaders finished a few key rallies to capture set 3. In set 4, the lone South Umpqua senior led the charge serving points 14 through 21. The team battled back to lose the match in a close duel. In set 5, the points were going back and forth. South Umpqua went on a serving streak from points 9 to 13. The Crusaders battled back, but were unable to take the lead back.
Sophomore Kelsey Dunn led the match for the Crusaders with 13 kills and went 20 for 20 from the serve line with 5 aces. Freshman Emma Johnston added 11 kills while putting up 25 digs. Senior Abbie Christman added 8 kills, with a team high hitting percentage, and chipped in 3 aces. Sophomore Albie Borovansky led the team with 30 digs on the night. Sophomore Kaitlyn Hansen racked up 30 assists.
