The Crusaders continued their unbeaten season as they face off against De La Salle North Catholic in their playoff opener at US Cellular Fields. The game starts a little slow for the Crusaders and the reason was De La Salle was the team that knocked them out last year. “Coach told the team to just relax and let’s just play our game”.
Junior Milan Bobek opened the scoring in their first half after a bobbled ball in the box allowed him to finish the past the De La Salle keeper. The scoring continued in the second half as Senior Preston Jernigan put away a PK after De La Salle’s center back was called for a hand ball in their box. Jernigan later assisted Sophomore Nate Sternenberg who slammed the ball into the upper corner and solidified the Crusaders’ 3-0 win over the visiting Knights. The Crusaders face Western Christian/Perrydale next on Saturday, November 3rd.
