The St. Mary’s Cross country boys and girls teams had a successful showing at the Special District 4 Championship meet on Thursday April 1st at Valley of the Rogue State Park.

Junior Addie Jensen led the girls squad with her 8th place finish earning second-team all-district honors with her 8th place finish. By finishing as the fourth individual not on a state qualifying team, Addie advances to next Saturday’s 3A/2A/1A State Championship meet in Lebanon. Senior Olivia Lippert (27th) and freshman Emily Bowdoin (31st) rounded out the Crusader finishers in the 64 person field.
On the boys side, Logan Diaz McNeal (3rd), David Noble (5th), earned first team all-district honors; Cody Arnold (10th) earned second team all-district; and Daniel Heycke (15th) and Will Doss (20th) earned third team all-district. Lukas Humphrey (24th) and Charlie Heim (39th). The boys’ second place finish garnered a trip to next weekend’s 3A State championship meet. This will be the first time since 2015 that a St. Mary’s boys cross country team has qualified for the state meet.
