St. Mary’s School Welcomes New Girls Basketball Coach

After spending four years coaching the St. Mary’s girls JV basketball team, Kim Birmingham has accepted the Varsity Head Coach position. Coach Birmingham has always led a life filled with athletics; she played college ball at College of the Siskiyous and was team captain during her playing years at Southern Oregon State College. She has worked at the Rogue Valley Family YMCA for the past 10 years where she has coached pre-school aged-children to members that are 90+ years of age.

Birmingham states, “It is an honor now moving into the Head coaching position. I am extremely blessed and thankful for St. Mary’s by entrusting me to keep up with traditions.  I am excited at the chance to coach the game I love, with some of the girls I have coached since the 7th grade. I look forward to many years of honoring the old traditions as well as brining in new ones.”

Coach Birmingham’s love for the game is clear to all who have seen her in action. St. Mary’s Athletic Director Jamie Young shares, “We are very excited to have coach Birmingham as the head of our girls basketball program. She brings a passion for the sport of basketball, and a genuine desire to help the young ladies in our program to be leaders on and off the court.”

St. Mary’s is thrilled to welcome Coach Birmingham to her new role.
