Crusaders News · Football All State

Six players from this years’ St. Mary’s football team have been selected to the 3A All State teams.

Cobey Aldrich made the 2nd Team All State team as a tight end. Aldrich played a pivotal role in the Crusader offense, and was arguably the standout tight end in the league.
Also garnering 2nd Team honors was Trevahn Foster at Defensive End. Foster was the Defensive Lineman of the Year in the SD 2 South League, and clearly one of the most dominant defensive players in the state.
Four Crusaders made the All-State Honorable Mention team.
Alex Heycke made the team as a receiver. A explosive threat on offense, Heycke played the best game of his career in the first round playoff game against Scio.
Gavin Rajagopal finished his career as one of the premier running backs in the state. While on his way to receiving Honorable Mention All State honors, Rajagopal was statistically in the top group of running backs in the state.
Nate Thickett received Honorable Mention All State recognition for both Offensive and Defensive Line. Thickett anchored the line on both sides of the ball, and was almost unblock-able on defense.
Aidan Young garnered All State Honorable Mention on both sides of the ball as well. On offense, Young led the way for a 1,000 yard rusher in Gavin Rajagopal. On defense, Young led one of the best linebacking groups in the league.
Congratulations to all our Crusaders!
