Girls Junior Varsity Golf, Girls Varsity Golf · Girl’s Golf runs away with title at Regional Tournament

4A/3A/2A/1A DISTRICT 4 REGIONAL: At Bandon, defending 3A/2A/1A state champion St. Mary’s ran away with the championship and qualified for the state tournament Monday and Tuesday at Trysting Tree Golf Club.

It will be joined by runner-up Phoenix. The top two teams and top five individuals qualified for state.

The Crusaders’ dominant performance included the top three individual placers, led by medalist Staesha Flock, who followed her 74 on Day 1 with a 75 for a 149 total.

Teammate Kaylee Wu was second with a 163, and Kamryn Ford came in third at 172. Freshman Grace Johnson also shot a personal best 110 at yesterday’s round.

Phoenix’s Maricela Alvarado-Powers shot a 196 total and placed fifth overall.  Coach Kevin Dixon was chosen Co-Coach of the Year alongside Lana Engle of Phoenix.
