Game Recap

The Crusaders tough serving proved to be too much for the Honkers for a must-win situation for both teams to advance to the first round of the state play-offs. The Crusaders tied for a season high of 18 aces for the match. Leading the way in serving was senior Madi Christensen who went 22 for 24 with 10 aces. Following right behind Christensen was senior Ashley Rietmann who served 22 for 23 with 6 aces. In game 1, the Crusaders started off slow against the Honkers who led 7-1 when Christensen served 12 straight points, 7 of which were aces. Christensen also led the team in kills on offense, putting down 9. Sophomore Hallie Shean contributed 7 and senior Aessa Catt added 6 kills. Setter Ashley Rietmann had 16 assists to add to her serving for the match. Defense was led by both Catt and libero MacKenzie Addington.
