Meet Recap

In a match that was more competitive than the score indicated, the St. Mary’s Womens Tennis team fell to Henley 2 matches to 6.Sophomore, Leah Sternenberg set the tone for future matches with her play at number one singles. After losing the first set 2-6, Leah battled back and eventually lost the match in a tiebreaker, marking the second time this season she has played a tough match only to lose in a tiebreaker. Kunyang Lu, another sophomore, playing number two singles, dominated her opponent with an 8-0 victory with aggressively steady play and very few unforced errors. Freshmen, Taylor Rose Tavares and Megan Nelson notched their first doubles victory of the season with an 8-6 win . It was a long evening of tennis as the remaining matches were all very competitive with the majority of points going to deuce. The women Crusaders have their first home match of the season on Thursday against Grants Pass.
