Meet Recap

Strong winds coupled with a talented and deep squad from Grants Pass were too much for the young Crusader Women’s Tennis Team to overcome in their first home meet of the year. This was the first time playing in such difficult conditions for St. Mary’s and the experienced opponents took advantage of the elements and turned them into their favor. The Crusaders did not go down easily, fighting for every point and extended many matches passed the ninety minute mark. Megan Nelson played a strong match in her first outing as a single, and the doubles team of Anais Fang and Rosemary Weston, playing together for the first time, forced many deuce games but could not win enough of them to take the match. Weston had only one day of practice before being called into duty to replace injured team captain Eve VonStrahl.
