Game Recap

At Rogue River, the St. Mary’s girls earned their seventh straight victory by beating a defensive-minded Chieftains team 5 – 0 on a wet and bumpy pitch. Leading the way for the Crusaders were sophomores Maddie Wheelock and Meghan Michels who scored two goals each in the contest. Senior Anna Peterson scored a goal in the second half when she alertly pounced on a deflected shot by Michels and slipped it past the Chieftain goalkeeper. Also earning assists were sophomores Ibixica Alvarez and Gabi Castillo. Adrien Birmingham added an assist as well as combining for the shutout in goal with fellow junior Emma Dewing. Freshmen Claire Pyka and Zoe Alftine contributed nicely to the victory. Pyka playing multiple positions solidly and Alftine combining with sophomore Ibixica Alvarez in the midfield to control play in the middle third.

Next up for the Crusaders is a home match with Lakeview on Wednesday, October 12 with a 4:30 kickoff on U.S. Cellular Field 10.
