Game Recap

At U.S. Cellular Park the St. Mary’s girls locked up their ninth consecutive conference championship by beating the Cascade Challengers by a score of 2 – 1. In the 22nd minute, sophomore Maddie Wheelock scored an unassisted goal by taking control of a ball outside the penalty box, beating a pair of Challenger defenders and placing a bending shot to the upper far post netting. Midway through the second half, Cascade tied the match up with a well-placed arcing shot by Baylee Plankenhorn. In the 78th minute, freshman Zoe Alftine assisted on the game winner by team leader in goals Meghan Michels.

The final league match for the Crusaders will be next Saturday at U.S. Celluar Park starting at 11:00 a.m. It will be Senior Day.
