MS Cross Country Starts Season Strong

The MS Cross Country teams started off the season on the right foot with a strong showing at the 29th Annual Crusader Invitational at Bear Creek Park.

The girls team took the overall team title with a score of 57 points.  The team was led by a strong grouping of Finley Cox (14:22, 7th place), Carson Hall (14:42, 8th place), and Abbie Kirkpatrick (14:42.8, 9th place).  Addie Jensen (15:55, 16th place) and Megan Mayerle (16:45, 20th place) rounded out the top five finishers for the team.

On the boys side, the St. Mary’s runners took second place overall in the team standings with a score of 61 points.  Owen Gramley led the boys runners with a 4th place finish and a time of 13:13.  The remaining runners to score points were Logan Diaz-McNeal (14:47, 14th place), Blake Gillespie (14;49, 15th place), Caleb Bingham (14:58, 17th place), and Mason Cooley (15:05, 20th place).

The runners will next be in action on Thursday, September 15th at South Grants Pass Middle School in the first SOMSAC meet of the year.
